Chicken Scratchings
The main thing you need to know about me writing-wise is that I like comedy, regardless of the medium. Generally I'll get an idea first, then try and figure out whether it's a sketch, a screenplay, a cartoon, a blog post, or what. Here are a few samples — click to enlarge where applicable, and drop me a line if you'd like to see more.
Unleashed
My latest project is Unleashed, an online animated comedy show that follows the trials and tribulations of animal actors in Hollywood. New episodes are posted to Unleashed.tv every Monday. Or, if you can't wait until then, check out the trailer.
For you hardcore Ben Zelevansky fans out there, this is the online animated comedy show for you. I co-write, co-act, co-direct, and edit the thing, and I came up with the concept. Soooooo much Ben.
American Hockey Fan
I stepped in for a few days to pinch-hit (mixed sports metaphor alert!) for site creator Ritch Duncan in the midst of the hottest (read: only) Stanley Cup Finals since the NHL came back from the lockout. My posts were amusing and free of typographical errors, if not entirely adequate in the prognostic sense.
Comedy Jokes Blog
For the newest and latest samples of my writing on topics ranging from current events to — okay, mostly current events — check out my blog, Comedy Jokes. Updated on a kinda sorta semi-frequent basis!
Jest Magazine
If freshness isn't your thing, check out a few pieces I did for Brooklyn's premier (and premiere) humor organ, Jest Magazine:
Stars on Ice
Here's a fun little piece about America's Most Wholesome Form of Family Entertainment — the ice skating show.
SPOILER ALERT: I found the show to be worthy of ridicule.
Topi-couplets
A lyrical look at the news of the day, I originated this feature for Jest but soon realized that it was better suited for the immediacy and linkitude of the blog world. Here's the one edition that ran in the mag — for more, check the left-hand column of Comedy Jokes.
Film and Television Scripts
There are too many thieving, conniving, double-crossing rat finks on the internet to post the details of the spec screenplays and TV pilots I've written. That doesn't include you, of course — you're a producer, director, and/or executive with excellent taste and grooming habits. So if you're interested in that stuff, email me and I'll send it out post-haste.
Contributing Writer
I often get invited into other people's projects to help spice them up here and there. I've contributed jokes, lines, scenes, and pages to:
- Couches — Independent feature film
- The Finkel Files — Cartoon Network pilot
- Clear! — Animated series for AtomFilms/Shockwave
- Farewell to Radioland — Sketch comedy album
- The Onion — Satirical newspaper
As it happens, I also acted in those projects, so head on over to the acting page if you'd like to see some clips.
This
I wrote this. These words — the ones you're reading right now. Also, all the ones you just read to get to this point.
